WE CALL YOU TO SERVICE! The St. Hugo of the Hills Altar Guild offers activities for all women of the parish. Our primary call is for the care of the Altar and the Sanctuary. We also sponsor the Healing Mass in May, the Fashion Show in the fall, and the Rummage Sale in June. The Healing Mass provides us with the opportunity to welcome our home bound, as well as the disabled in our four area nursing homes. The latter two activities, along with the sale of our own cookbook, "Amazing Taste," raise funds to support our charitable gifts. Our nominal membership dues also help us support our charities.

The Altar Guild fills real needs of suffering people by people who need to care. Your human and financial support helps defeat loneliness and despair. Our work is service. We realize, however, that social activities can build charitable services. We sponsor bridge, pinochle, bowling and lively conversation.

Red Cross Blood Bank
The Altar Guild sponsors two blood drives, usually in the Parish Hall. Keep in tune for dates and time as they approach. The Co-Chairwomen is Doris Richard (540-6098) and Sandy Futternecht, (334-3313).

Bowling
A bowling league is sponsored by the Altar Guild. Contact Martha Oliverio at 338-1574, for more information.

Pinochle Leagues
The Evening Pinochle League has 16 couples. On the third Thursdays of the month, from September to May, four groups of four couples play together at different homes. New couples are usually added every Fall and interested couples can call Jean Michaels at 338-9395 for more information. The fee to join is $16.00 per couple. There are monthly prizes as well as end of the season prizes.

Bridge League
The Bridge League is sponsored by the Altar Guild. Duplicate bridge for couples is held in the Parish Center on first Fridays of the month. There are twelve other bridge leagues: some meet in daytime, others meet in the evening. There is a nominal fee. Proceeds go to the Altar Guild.
