Baptismal Font and Canopy

1. On the first panel of the canopy (above), on the left you have the water jugs from the story of the wedding feast at Cana (Jn 2: 6-10); and on the right is Jonah and the whale (Jon 1:15 - 2:1).

2. On second panel, on the left you have the wheel of the pharaoh's chariot being swept away by the Red Sea (Ex 14: 26-28); and on the right is Noah's ark and the dove returning with the olive branch in its beak (Gen 8: 10-11).

3. The third panel has the rock struck by Moses in the desert which yielded flowing water (Ex 17:6-7).

4. The final panel is facing the altar. The Holy Spirit, represented by a dove, comes to us first through the sacrament of Baptism (Matt 3:16; Mk 1: 9-10; Lk 3: 21-22; Jn 1: 32-33).
