Getting Ready for Sunday
When: Tuesdays, 10:30a-12noon; Fridays, 6:45-7:30am
Where: Large Conference Room at the Parish Office
Readings: Click here for readings and reflections

The "Getting Ready for SUNDAY" sessions are designed to help prepare Catholic Adults to effectively listen to, understand, and respond to God's word as proclaimed in each Sunday's Liturgy of the Word. Our aim is to make the Scriptures meaningful for adults, to stir imaginations, to enhance lives, to equip adults to respond to life's challenges as disciples of Jesus, and to immerse more deeply into Catholic tradition and identity.

Each "Getting Ready for SUNDAY" session will follow a consistent pattern of three steps designed to help adults discover connections between their daily experiences and God's word and between God's word and the life of faith that they are called to live as Catholic Christians. The threes steps are: read each of the three readings for Sunday; reflect on experiences from daily life that relate to the Sunday readings; and explore the rich tradition of current Biblical scholarship and insight through the guidance of:

• Sr. Barbara Rund, OP on Tuesday mornings at 10:30am-12noon
• Fr. Ron Richards on Friday mornings at 6:45am-7:30pm

Bible study is an opportunity to encounter God as well as learn about who we are as a Church. When people study God’s Word together in groups it becomes an opportunity to know each other on a deeper level than is usually possible. It becomes an opportunity to build community and to extend that community in care for others.

Little Rock Scripture Study provides the tools needed to enter into God’s Word in a way that will lead to transformation. It is designed to bring people to a greater understanding of the Bible, an awareness of God’s living presence in Sacred Scripture, and an appreciation of how the Bible can be applied to daily life. Ultimately, Little Rock Scripture Study encourages a way of life that can lead to real and lifelong conversion. Come and join us.

Parents For Vocation
The priest shortage we are facing in our dioceses is very real. Currently most parishes are not feeling the effects. However, in a matter of several years that will change. The crises scenario described on September 19's Herald will happen if changes do not occur. Already the Archdiocese of Detroit has formed a group that will visit all parishes in the next year to begin planning on ways of dealing with the decline in members including consolidation and closings. Click here for information on Parents for Vocations.
