POLICIES

SCHEDULE

Please keep the choir schedule in a visible spot at your home! If you should misplace your schedule, a copy is posted on the parish website.

ATTENDANCE

Regular attendance is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT and is expected! Your child will be missed if they are not present. Voices working together consistently make for a successful choir. If your child is ill or an emergency arises, please email the director at your earliest convenience to let me know that your child is not able to attend rehearsal or Mass. PLEASE do not send a child to rehearsal who is experiencing cold symptoms.

WEATHER

We will follow the local school policy about weather. If school is cancelled or there is early dismissal, choir will be cancelled for that day. Please use your best judgment if there is no school cancellation or early dismissal, but conditions are deteriorating. Safety comes first!

SNACKS

Please provide your child with a nutritious snack, which will be eaten just prior to rehearsal in the choir room. Please try to avoid sugary snacks. Fruit is always a good choice! Crackers or pretzels are also fine. Also, please provide a drink-preferably juice or water. Please do not send soda! The use of the restroom will also be made available during this time. There will be NO use of the restroom during rehearsal. Also, the kitchen and parish hall are completely off limits unless otherwise specified by the director.

PARENT ASSISTANTS

It will be rehearsal policy that we have a parent assistant at each rehearsal and Mass. This is of great help to the director, in terms of assisting individual children during rehearsals and with discipline. Let me know if you can help.

BEHAVIOR

The same behavioral standards that apply to school apply to choir. If a child displays a pattern of disruptive behavior, a meeting between director and parent will be necessary to address the situation and for the child to continue in the choir.

QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS

Please feel free to contact the director via phone: 248-644-5460 or email: john.sittard@sthugo.org if you have any questions or concerns.

END OF THE YEAR PARTY

If the choir accomplishes its goals, as determined by the director, a party will take place at the end of the choir season!
