Indeed someone might say,
"You have faith and I have works."
Demonstrate your faith to me without works,
and I will demonstrate my faith to you from my works.
James 2:18
The life of a Catholic Christian Steward is lived as a disciple of Christ - bound by love, nourished by the Eucharist, and living out ten essential lifestyle characteristics: prayer, humility, trust, patience, responsibility, gratitude, generosity, simplicity, mercy and perseverance.
Lay ministers are typically responsible for a specific area of service, such as youth ministry, social services, religious education, spirituality, liturgy, music, and outreach to the sick or elderly. Many work in parishes, while others work in diocesan offices, universities and hospitals. Parishioners supporting the many ministries, outreach services, parish guilds, social groups, fraternal orders, and advisory councils serving the surrounding community and those in need across the U.S. and throughout the world, are a sign of the Church’s presence in the world. In service to God, we offer care, inclusion, education, the rudiments of life, and hope. Find out what's available and what interest you and Get Involved!
