High School (Grades 9-12)
The Youth Ministry at St. Hugo of the Hills Parish
is designed to welcome and actively involve young people in the life of
the parish community and to help them respond to and live out their
baptismal call. Youth Ministry utilizes the eight components outlined in
the document, Renewing the Vision, from the United States Catholic
Bishops. Young People are provided opportunities to learn and grow in
their faith through catechesis, community building, prayer and worship,
weekend retreats, and by engaging in service. Young people are highly
encouraged to receive the training to become lectors, commentators, and
eucharistic ministers at the parish and to consider how their gifts and
talents may be used in other areas of parish life. In addition to
parish-sponsored opportunities, the young people are encouraged to
participate in vicariate, archdiocesan, and national programs.

Middle School
(Grades 6-8)
The Mid-Hi Ministry at this level is designed
to supplement the formation programs offered at St. Hugo
Elementary School and through the
Religious Education Office.
Youth ministry at the middle school level focuses therefore on
community building, service, and prayer. Getting teens involved
early is a great way to develop their desire to be a part of
parish life as they grow up.

It Takes a Whole
Parish
It takes the time, talents, and resources of our entire
parish community to provide an excellent youth program for our
middle and high school youth. We are asking all members of our
adult community to take a few minutes to consider what gifts they
can offer. (more)

Adult & Parent Volunteers Needed
The youth ministry program is in need of volunteers
for two upcoming events. The first event is the vicariate “Last
Bash” youth gathering on Sunday, May 21. Parents or other adults
who would be available for 2 hour shifts between the hours of
1:00-5:00pm are needed to help supervise the activities and BBQ
the hot dogs and hamburgers. The second event is the annual
GLOVES service week. We are in need of one or two males who
would be available the week of June 12-16 to be project leaders
at the service sites. Project leaders must be at least 21 years
old and complete the mandated background check. Also needed that
week are a couple of parents who would be willing to provide
dinner for the teens. If you can help in any of these areas or
would like more information, please call Nikki at 248-644-5460.
