Youth Group 2004-2005 Mission  Statement:
We are God Centered youth who are accepting and loving of others. We strive to serve the community and share our faith through participating in mass and praising and worshipping Our God. Along with having fun, we challenge and deepen our faith and our knowledge of ourselves and others.

Meetings
St. Hugo Youth Ministry is open to all High School students. Regular Youth Group meetings are held Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30pm. A calendar of meetings and events is posted on the board outside of the parish office and as always students are invited to bring a friend. There always is food, music, games and laughter. Ms. Nicole “Nikki” Zakrzewski, Coordinator of Youth Ministry. Click here for calendar with dates for upcoming events.

It Takes A Whole Parish
It takes the time, talents, and resources of our entire parish community to provide an excellent youth program for our middle and high school youth. We are asking all members of our adult community to take a few minutes to consider what gifts they can offer. Please check all areas of interest. You will be contacted for follow up. To see or print the form, visit the following link: Youth Ministry Survey.

World Youth Day 2008
Respond now to be part of this once in a lifetime experience. In 2008, World Youth Day pilgrims will travel to Sydney, Australia to join in the festivities, which culminate with the mass celebrated by the Pope.

Why register now? You must register by July 14 to guarantee a spot on the pilgrimage. There are only a few airlines that fly to Australia. All Pilgrims to World Youth Day will, except for those from Australia, will need to travel by plane, so airline seats will be in great demand. The Archdiocese of Detroit has a limited number of airline seats available, but they can only be held with a deposit that is submitted by July 14.

Why be a pilgrim? World Youth Day is an experience that you won’t forget. As a pilgrim, you will witness to your faith with thousands of others from around the world. In addition you will grow personally and spiritually as you encounter the joys and challenges of walking and waiting with many other people for a common purpose.

Who can be a pilgrim? World Youth Day is designed for teens and young adults. Participants must be at least 16 years old by July of 2008.

How long World Youth Day is and how much will it cost? The basic World Youth Day Hotel package is from July 12-21, 2008 and is estimated at $3,300. The initial deposit is $350.

More information on the travel packages can be obtained from Nikki in the youth ministry office. General World Youth Day information can be found at www.wyd2008.org.

Youth Ministry Adult Team
Are you a member of the Adult team? Would you like to be? I’ve been told that there are caring and committed adults who have been working with the teens of the parish and I would imagine that there are some other adults who are interested in supporting our young people. Some may say it’s cliché, but it truly takes a whole parish to have effective, vibrant youth ministry. If you have been a member of the adult team or would be interested in serving in this capacity, please call me. There are a variety of ways that adults can be involved with varying time commitments. I’d love to talk to you about this exciting ministry.
