2020-2021 FAITH

Dear Parish Families,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to St. Hugo of the Hills Faith Formation Program! I hope you and your family are staying safe and remaining well during this unprecedented time.  Please know that the St. Hugo Staff and Catechists will continue to keep you and your family in prayer.

Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, First Semester Religious Education Classes will be offered by Zoom for Grades 1-8, beginning Monday, October 5th-January 25th.  (Please see Tentative Calendar below.)  This decision was made after surveying our families and the desire to keep our children as safe as possible.  Zoom will allow us to offer an interactive experience which is so vital to forming our faith.  Our catechists are looking forward to teaching your children this Fall.

Sunday, September 20, 2020, will mark the 49th Catechetical Sunday, designated by The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.  “I received from the Lord what I also handed on to you”.  Let us as catechists and parents who teach the Gospel to our children re-dedicate ourselves to this mission during this challenging time.

Over the past five years, St. Hugo’s has also offered Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for Age 4 children on Sundays during the 12:00 noon Mass and the Liturgy of the Word for Children (LWC) for ages 4-7 on Sundays during the 10:00 am Mass.  Due to Covid-19 and for your young children’s safety, these programs will not be offered this Fall. However, kindergarten textbooks will be available for purchase; please indicate on the online registration form if you are interested in purchasing this textbook for use at home. All textbooks and resources for this year’s program will be available for pickup to registered families on Monday, September 28, 2020. Registered families will be notified after Labor Day regarding the times for pickup of religion books.

If you haven’t registered, now is the time to register your children online for the Faith Formation Program for this Fall, 2020! Please register online at for Faith Formation, Gr. 1-8, no later than September 15, 2020. Tuition and Sacrament fees can be made through Online Giving for your convenience.  For your convenience, I will be available in the Gathering Space after the Sunday Masses on September 15 to assist you and answer any questions you may have. A family in need of financial assistance for Religious Education tuition may request this paperwork from the Parish Office.   Please know, if you have any questions, you may contact me by email at  Please see First Semester Tentative Calendar below.

Summer Blessings!
Mrs. Barbara Yugovich, M.A., Parish Catechetical Leader
